Stephen L. Ganis, the founder and principal of the firm, is a business lawyer licensed in Connecticut and New York and has worked at two major New York City law firms and as in-house counsel to an investment management firm as well as outside corporate counsel to a start-up which grew to an industry leader in its sector within a decade.  We use our experience to provide effective results and help clients control costs through innovative fee structures. The philosophy of our firm is that we serve our clients in a timely and cost-efficient manner, we don't create documents that are overlong, and if the client has legal issues in an area of law which we don't have expertise, we work closely with many lawyers on an independent basis to provide the legal services needed, whether it be in immigration, civil litigation or arbitration, or tax law.

First, I have the experience to offer this service:  I have served as outside counsel to companies that needed an affinity relationship with an outside lawyer to handle many of the regular legal matters and offer counsel in certain decision-making to prevent legal problems rather than clean up after a costly mistake is made.  I have counseled start ups and emerging companies at critical junctures, and by managing the legal issues I helped the business owners focus on their business.  

Next, I have been practicing business and corporate law since 1981, and my legal judgment and skills have been informed by nearly a decade of corporate and business practice in two large Manhattan law firms,  as well as 3 years of serving as corporate counsel for an asset manager/ investment manager firm, and for approximately 20 years, as the founder and principal of my own law firm.  My first career, prior to law, was publishing and editing community newspapers in New York City, so I have business experience and can appreciate the need to have counsel on hand to unburden executives.

In the past 30 years I have represented business and individual clients throughout the New York metropolitan area, including New York County (Manhattan), and Westchester County (including Armonk, Pound Ridge, White Plains and Bedford) as well as in Connecticut's Fairfield County, New Haven County, and Hartford County, and throughout the communities of Brookfield, Danbury, Darien, Fairfield, Greenwich, Georgetown, New Canaan, Norwalk, Rowayton, Westport, Wilton, and Stamford, and New Jersey.   My practice has extended to other states and countries in the course of representation of clients, and I have developed relationships with lawyers in many different American cities.
